Nebuchadnezzar king was a Babylon king who took over the reign of Jerusalem from Jehoiakim king of Judah with the countenance from God. Daniel was a prophet gifted in dream interpretation during the reign of Nebuchadnezzar king.
When Nebuchadnezzar king was in his ruling, he commanded to bring forth the blemish-free, wise, skillful and knowledgeable children to palace to learn Chaldeans. Daniel and his three friends Hananiah, Mishael and Azariah were brought to the palace and lived there. God had mercies on the four children and gave them knowledge, skill and wisdom. Meat and wine were commanded by the king to provide to the four children and other chosen ones. But the four children purposed hi their hearts that they would not defile themselves. Therefore, pulse and water were brought to them as God brought Daniel into favor and tender love with the prince of the eunuchs.
In the second year of Nebuchadnezzar king's ruling, a dream was given to him by God. Nebuchadnezzar king was troubled by the dream and could not sleep after that. He called all the magicians, astrologers, sorcerers and Chaldeans for dream interpretation. None of them could interpret the king's dream as the king himself could not remember the dream. As the Chaldeans answered before the king and said none other than the God could show Nebuchadnezzar king his matters. The king was furious and ordered to kill all the wise men of Babylon.
The captain of the king's guard told Daniel about what happened. Daniel assured the king that he would show the king the interpretation if the king would give him time. Daniel went to his house and told his three friends. The four people together desired mercies of God to reveal the secret to them. A night vision was given to Daniel.
When Daniel was brought to the Nebuchadnezzar king, he interpreted the dream. Daniel said to the king that there was a great image in the dream. The great image was with excellent brightness. The head of image of made of fine gold and other parts like breast, legs, and belly were made of brass, iron and clay. A stone was thrown to the iron and clay feet from no hands. The iron and clay feet were hit and the whole great image was broken like chaff to form a mountain.
Daniel told the king that the golden head represented Nebuchadnezzar king, meaning that the God had already given the king kingdom, power, strength and glory. After his reign, there would be three more kingdoms. The three kingdoms were characterized by the material that made the different parts of the great image. In these days, the God would use a kingdom, which is ever standing to break the three kingdoms.
Daniel was offered oblation and sweet odors as worship. His faith and trust in God pleased the God and mercies were given to him for dream interpretation and be blessed and graced upon Nebuchadnezzar king. - 31096
